Troy and Baden shared a passion for sports along with a commitment to family, friends, and their community. Your participation and donation help us carry that love forward in their names. The golf tournament provides us a special day to celebrate the impact that they had, their commitment to others, and to enjoy time with old and new friends. Troy & Baden lived life to its fullest, so we are honoring them by doing the same.
Participants play golf at the Wing Point Golf & Country Club and enjoy lunch, cocktails, dinner, and auction with other golfers and friends in the community. We are excited to welcome you back for an amazing day to remember.
The money raised from the tournament goes to the Troy and Baden Biddle Foundation, which in turn gives back to the Bainbridge Island community in their memories. We support local youth sports programs and award Biddle Memorial Scholarships each year to Bainbridge Island graduating high school students who have made contributions to youth sports and athletics in the form of leadership, mentorship, sportsmanship and/or ambassadorship.
Baden Biddle
Baden, an engaged and dynamic force in our community, loved sports, music, his friends and family. His sly sense of humor put a smile on the faces of those around him. Baden’s friends and teammates could count on him to show up ready to play, knew he led by example, focused on the team rather than individual glory, understood that supporting roles were as important as starring roles, and always liked to have fun.
Troy Biddle
Troy was an active leader, coach, and contributor within multiple sports organizations across the island, including serving on the boards of Bainbridge Island Little League and BI Football. Troy’s strong work ethic and sense of commitment to whatever he did, made him a fierce but compassionate advocate for the players, his teams and for the community. He believed atheletes were representatives of their community, and in light of that, should act with humility and the utmost respect for their opponents. He imparted on kids he coached that being member of a team means making a commitment to your teammates, your coaches, and yourself. In Troy’s eyes, participating in sports meant learning grit, problem solving skills, and leadership skills, all of which arm athletes to go out into the world and add value to their community.
The money donated to the Troy and Baden Biddle Foundation goes back into the Bainbridge Island youth sports community through scholarships, need based grants and/or other giving made in Troy and Baden’s memories.
The Biddle Memorial Scholarship awards college scholarships to graduating seniors living and/or attending school on Bainbridge Island who have made a particular contribution to an athletic sports team(s), club(s), or organization(s) in the form of leadership, mentorship, sportsmanship, and/or ambassadorship.
Applicants submit a general application and are then asked to complete short answers to scholarship scholarship-specific questions, provide a letter of recommendation, and when possible, finalists participate in an interview process. The Foundation also offers discreet need-based grants to help offset registration costs for those who would otherwise have to miss out on opportunities to play youth sports, including tournaments and other activities. The Foundation works with various youth sports programs in the community to identify and address needs that Troy and Baden would have championed.
